5 tips if you are trying to lose weight before Christmas

December 4, 2018

Not long until Christmas, how are you feeling? Dreading those pre Christmas drinks because you know there's going to be lots of drunken selfies taken right? Know you are going to over indulge in chocolate over the festive period?

Here are ten quick top tips to help you lose weight before Christmas, because then when you eat your body weight in chocolate on boxing day then it doesn't really count, does it?!

Here you go:

Tip 1 - Set your intention

If you want to lose weight then you need to make sure that you are clear in your mind what you want to do and how you are going to do it. It is all too easy to make excuses and fail before you have even started.

Tip 2 - Make yourself accountable

Set your goal and break it down. Week by week give yourself a realistic target. Then each week you can check in on yourself and if you haven't achieved your target then you need to look at the reasons why and be honest with yourself!

Tip 3 - Plan, plan and stick to plan

Maybe it sounds obvious but planning your meals and preparing these in advance is setting you up for success. This means you are much less likely to go for convenience foods when you are on the go or after a long day.

Tip 4 - Do your research

Ok so we all think we know what a healthy balanced diet is, but I am sure that all of our view on that will differ. So do you research, read up on different types of foods that will boost your weight loss but also foods that will sabotage it. If you want to follow a pre-made healthy eating plan the hard work is done for you!

Tip 5 - Know how much you are drinking

I don't just mean alcohol, obviously if you want to lose weight then cutting out alcohol is a good idea as you don't want it to sabotage your weight loss journey. However it is equally important to monitor the amount of water you are drinking. We get so busy it can be easy to lose track of how much water we have been drinking and if we don't drink enough we can confuse hunger pains for thirst. There are some great water bottles available that monitor how much water you drink throughout the day, so a great investment!

Good luck and let me know how you get on!
